Little Lever Cricket Club

About Us

Our aim is simple... we want to provide excellent sports and recreation facilities for our members and the local community.

Our ethos is built around inclusion and is wholly dependent upon the dynamism and enthusiasm of our members, volunteers and the local community around us.

This club is your club - join today in time for summer!

Founded in 1861 Little Lever Cricket Club has seen many household names wear the Club colours.

Notable alumni include:

    • Sir Garfield Sobers who holds the Clubs batting record in Cup matches.

    • Sonny Ramadhin who spent five years entertaining us with his guile

    • Former Australian batsman and coach Geoff Marsh who visits whenever he is in the Country.

Others include Chris Matthews, Henderson Bryon, Franklin Rose, and Venkat Raman. All of whom played cricket at this Club before representing their Country. Ex County player Steven O'Shaughnessy played his cricket at Little Lever before moving to Old Trafford.

The Club enjoys freehold ownership of the ground. The club itself has been built up around the skill, endeavour and dedication of local volunteers and the membership. But in common with most clubs like ours, we depend very much on bar takings and the support of local businesses.

The Club fields three adult and five junior cricket teams aged from 9 years to 18 years old in the Bolton Cricket League, for the younger child aged 5 to 8 years old we participate in the ECB All Stars programme. We also have a junior girls  rounders team, 4 Table Tennis teams (in the Bolton and Bury Leagues) and 2 darts  teams (in the local league).

We have an active committee that consists of 8/10 members which is responsible for day to day decision making on behalf of the Members.

Our ground is made available to both the junior and senior schools in the village for their use when required. The high school use the pitch to play some of their home games on.

We employ a Club Steward, a Professional Cricketer, a Groundsman, and several part time bar personnel.

Our social facilities include a lounge bar at first floor level where we have installed a number of TV screens for all broadcast live sport.

Our modern function room is available for any event, eg; Weddings,  Adult Birthdays, Christenings, Wakes etc.

Sorry we don't accommodate  Children's Birthday Parties, 18th Birthday parties or Junior Football Presentation Evenings
